Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba Group Holding has stepped up its involvement in China's electric vehicle sector, launching a sedan with wireless charging under a new brand formed together with SAIC Motor. The sedan unveiled on Wednesday under the brand IM-for "intelligence in motion" features a new solid-state battery from Contemporary Amperex Technology, China's largest battery maker, with a higher energy destiny than those in use now. The vehicle will be able to self-park and include smartphone functions such as phone shooting and social media sharing. (Alibaba launches electric car in tie-up with SAIC, by Nikkei)
Comment:
In recent years, many companies at home and abroad tend to produce electric vehicles with self-independent IPRs. The joint efforts of Alibaba and SAIC will advance the development of China's new-energy automobile industry.
