A special exhibition on East Asian kite culture was recently kicked off at Weifang World Kite Museum, China's Shandong province, to mark the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Culture City of East Asia, a program jointly initiated by China, Japan and South Korea. The event offered visitors an opportunity to gain a good understanding of the historical origin and evolution of China's kite culture and to admire featured kites from home and abroad. Comment:
China's intangible cultural heritage represented by kites is rejuvenated through inheritance and innovation, presenting to East Asia and even the world its experiences in creative transformation and development of traditional culture, and building a cultural bridge between China and other countries.
